Composting...
Home composting is one of the most environmentally-friendly and cost-effective ways of dealing with garden waste.

Around one third of our waste can be easily composted at home – from garden clippings to cardboard, tea bags and paper

.By composting instead of putting everything in the rubbish bin we can greatly reduce the amount we send to landfill.

Food and garden waste is taken to a central composting facility at Nantycaws, Carmarthen, where it is turned into compost or soil conditioner to be reused.

NEVER put GLASS in your blue bags as it is dangerous for our workers. Broken glass can also contaminate the blue bag which means it can no longer be sent for recycling.

Please take your glass bottles and jars to your local recycling centre/bring site. If you are unable to do this, then wrap carefully and place in your black bags

The Village Recycling bins are located in the park please remember to place all items inside the provided bins...
Glass
Cans
Plastic
Paper
Clothes

If you cannot compost at home, please use your nearest Household Waste Recycling Centre. If you cannot do either, garden waste can be collected weekly in pre-purchased county council bags at the price of £3.50 for 20 bagsthese can also be purchased from Pontyberem Memorial Hall

Please do not leave any carrier bags, boxes etc lying around these bins on the ground as they are a Health and Safety risk as well as a environmental issue.
